Following on from blog post 'MY CONTRIBUTION' I have completed a test shoot at home as discussed. Still waiting on an order for the white back drop I decided to shoot some imagery of a mask on the mannequin head with different backdrops I had around the house. figure 1-4 have a photo witch is a map in the backdrop, using a shallow depth of field allow the detail to be obscured but creating a backdrop for the mask to stand out from. Although the mask is dominating the frame I feel the abstract backdrop and playful light distracts attention from the mask. This will make these image no good to show the product in a advertising platform for sales.
MASK
Using a plain mask so the designer can use this as primary research to visualise their design development .
Although out mask isn't going to be plated, we will be using a a design to allow easier application of the designs to be printed onto the mask.
Many websites I have looked at for advertising mask have a mannequin to display the mask to show fitment and size.
Background
Using object around the home as props for the shoot. This helped me as an artist to think creativity with inly using what is around.
The polkadot background is my bedroom wall.I have used a box and white bedding sheet to elevate the mannequin head cutting out the wooden skirting boards.
The plant also form my bedroom, just a test I wanted to bring the greenery in as our product will be sustainable and better for the environment once not needed anymore. What better way to bring nature and the earth into a shoot than a house plant.
The black and white background is a photo frames of Paris. I though the complicated designs close up would create an abstract background.I plan to use the designs from the designers in the group as a back ground in a similar way.
LIGHTING
Only lighting used is natural light from my window.
Over all these images are not website standard and will not be used for Aeon. I propose to shooting a further test shoot before the Aeon mask are made by Damarni and ready to be photographed.
