As a photographer within the group I am responsible for shooting the photographic content for the 4 mask designers campigns. After discussion and receiving a mood board from Icey with inspirational images to suit her campaign. I headed to Huddersfield then centre to shoot with a friend as a test shoot.

Above are 2 mood board from Isla to showcase to me her ideas for what she wanted from the shoot. At my first glance at the first mood board in particular I was concerned about creating these images for imagery to advertise and camping a product. product photography is usually models and taken in a clean way to showcase the product and its detailing. Speaking to Isla I made it clear I wouldn't
Shoot in the style of the first mood board for that reason and the images show a genre of identity photography and I wasn't clear as to what the had to do with the mask. However, I did use the Inspiration of angles and location from the second mood board.

Despite the shoot only being a test with a non professional model and no team around to create this fashion shoot due to covid-19 restrictions I tried to use what I have create the aesthetic shown within the mood board as well as my Photography knowledge on how visible and clear the product (Mask) needed to be.
Upon looking at the shoot their is only one image I would be happy to put forward with my name on this being the first image in this blog. Nevertheless this is a group project and not my familiar style of working so I took the test shoot to Isla and she didn't want to use the photo for her campaign as I to seemed she felt I didn't stick to her brief. Although they're a far way between my images and the mood board their is also full teams and lighting kit used within these shoots as well as professional models.
Upon analyses of this shoot I would agree the content is not visually strong nor the best of quality to fit with the fashion genre. For further potential shoot I would need an assisting photographer such as Nick Ashman from the group so that we could help with reflector and other equipment. I would need to get a pro model with a hair and make-up Artist to prep the model and ensure she is editorial ready. The images are grainy due to the camera not being capable with a high iso range to compensate for the lack of natural light.
Due to the restrictions not lifting but deadlines approaching I plan to shoot more studio style shots and portraits of family members with the mask on a mannequin to ensure the quality and crisp editorial feel for the website purposes. Although this lacks a real creativity in comparison to a fashion/editorial shoot it is just not achievable with the restrictions.
